Mayamiko Designed: REBIRTH collection

We love the luxurious feel of the limited edition #REBIRTH collection by a Mayamiko Designed.

Made with 100 per cent wool and cotton fabrics that have been up-cycled from a high-end mill in Italy, you’re certainly going to feel warm and on-trend over the cooler months.

The collection is called #REBIRTH because the collection gives a new life to fabrics that have been discarded. It’s about inspiring people to rethink their ideas and expectations about fashion, in a positive way.

If you didn’t catch it already, check out our interview with All About She’s lead singer Vanya Taylor, where you’ll see her modelling the #REBIRTH collection.

Paola Masperi, founder of Mayamiko Designed said:

“The #REBIRTH collection was born out of the desire to create something completely wonderful from something that might be deemed by some as ‘written off’ or not meeting a certain set of criteria…now what woman has not felt like that at some point in their life? I certainly have!

“The fabrics are so soft and such high quality that they are a pleasure to wear. They are ‘end-of-roll’ which means there might not be enough height to produce a full garment in the usual industrial way, but there is huge potential to turn these into little creative masterpieces.

“This is what we have done with the #REBIRTH collection. In the process of ’empowering’ these fabrics, we continue ’empowering’ the communities we work in. The collection was fully produced in Malawi where we continue our work with disadvantaged women and the community.”
